UAV Battery Storage Guide for Commercial Drone Fleets

UAV Battery Storage Guide for Commercial Drone Fleets

Storage procedures protect battery availability between missions. A commercial fleet needs a clear handoff from post-flight inspection to storage, charging and the next dispatch.

Store within the approved range

Use the temperature, state-of-charge and storage-duration guidance supplied for the exact pack. Keep packs dry, protected from damage and separated from conductive objects. Do not store a pack that is hot, damaged or awaiting inspection with packs cleared for service.

Build a rotation process

Label each pack and record its last flight, charge state and any exception. This lets teams rotate stock consistently, identify aging packs and avoid sending an unverified pack into the field.

Inspect before return to service

Before a stored pack is assigned, check the enclosure, connectors and relevant BMS status. Use a controlled charge and functional aircraft check before a mission when a pack has been stored for an extended period.
